EDUARDO PORTELLA 

Essayist and Professor Emeritus at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), Eduardo Portella is currently co-ordinating, on behalf of UNESCO, the project "Pathways of Thought Today: New languages in the Emerging Millennium". Research Director for the Colégio do Brasil. His extensive involvement in public service, in various national and international instances, has always centred on matters of education, science, culture and communication.
